What We Do

Nichols Pickles & Preserves is an award-winning family business based in Howden, East Yorkshire. We create premium conserves, chutneys, curds and condiments in small batches, using carefully chosen ingredients and recipes that celebrate the natural flavour of fruit and vegetables.

What began in our kitchen garden has grown into a business built on a simple belief: great preserves don’t need to be complicated. We believe that generous ingredients, thoughtfully balanced flavours and careful preparation are what make a preserve truly memorable, whether it’s enjoyed at breakfast, on a cheeseboard or shared around the table with family and friends.

Recognition

In 2026, our Sweet Chilli & Root Ginger Jam received a Great Taste Award, and Nichols Pickles & Preserves was also awarded New Business of the Year at the Goole & Howdenshire Business Excellence Awards. These awards mean a great deal to us because they recognise the quality of our products and the care that goes into every jar we make.

Today, you’ll find our preserves in independent cafés, farm shops and delicatessens, as well as at food festivals, farmers’ markets and country shows across Yorkshire.
